Website Rescue

A service we wish we didn't need to provide

Get More Information

What is Website Rescue?

Unfortunately, we have seen a dramatic increase in businesses choosing the wrong web designer or agency to help them with their project.

This has resulted in a lot of business owners contacting us and asking for help.

The help that we can provide takes many forms, and while it is uniquely specific to each situation, the outcome is always the same - the business owner that reaches out to us gets the end result they desired

A fully finished website, and peace of mind that the web agency they initially hired won't be taking advantage of them any longer.

Website Rescue is a service we honestly wish we didn't need to provide, but keep being asked to.

OUR APPROACH

As mentioned, the specifics of each case will mean our approach changes from client to client.

As a result, it's probably easier to give you some scenarios where clients have reached out to us and you can see if you relate to any of these:

Your Web designer or agency...

  • Stopped communicating with you mid-project, after payment has been made
  • Is forcing to to make additional payments which you thought were covered in the original agreement
  • Has completely broken your website and refuses to take responsibility
  • Is seemingly unable (or unwilling) to fix broken links on the website
  • Is charging you "break fees" to use another web design company
  • Is charging you when you ask for access to your own website
  • Takes far too long to respond to simple requests
  • Has taken over a year on your website project and you feel trapped (99% of web projects shouldn't take more than 3 months)
  • Is not even close to providing the level of service, or quality, you had hoped for, but you have already paid them so you feel completely trapped and unable to do anything about it

These are a few of the scenarios we are contacted about on a regular basis, and we can help you with all of these situations.

Case Studies

Electrical Wholesaler - e-commerce website

The Situation

This company approached us after they had hired a web agency to develop a new website for them so they could provide online purchasing to their customers who had trade accounts.
They had been promised a 3 month project timeline and a fixed cost for delivery.

8 months later, the agency they hired had demanded multiple additional payments to keep the project going and eventually stopped communicating with them.

With customers constantly asking for an ETA on the new website, this business felt completely stuck. They had paid out tens of thousands of dollars for the initial project, along with thousands more in additional (unexpected) payments and had absolutely nothing to show for it.
They felt like they couldn't end the relationship and start again after investing so much into it, but didn't know what to do and how t get this agency to take action to finish the project.

The Solution

We were brought on in a consulting capacity to help facilitate the completion of the project.

Our knowledge of how agencies operate, understanding of the technical terms, and expertise in web design, allowed us to come in and show the agency their behaviour was no longer acceptable.

Within 7 days of us being brought on, the original agency was not only back in communication, but they actually made this clients project a priority and brought the project to a point where it could go live.

This was after months of either not communicating at all, or telling the client there was no way to give any ETA on completion.

There were several areas in the layout and design of the website that the original agency said was impossible to be completed, so part of our role was to sort these out - which we did within that 7 day period as well.

This client went from having no website, no ETA, an agency that wasn't communicating, and tens of thousands of dollars spent on something that looked dead in the water, to having their new website fully completed and operational within just 7 days because of our assistance.

Painting Company - service website

The Situation

This company had hired someone a family member recommended to build them a new website.

After more than a year of going back and forwards with the web designer, this business owner made the decision that something needed to change to get this project completed.

The web designer didn't speak English as a first language, which made communicating more difficult, and this was leading to a breakdown in understanding over specific areas of the website.

The web designer had also told the business owner that they should finish the website themselves - seemingly giving up on finishing the project - even though they had been paid for this job.

The Solution

We were asked initially to help in a consulting capacity - to use our technical knowledge and act as the middle-man and help explain to the client what the web designer was asking of them.

It turned out that it would be much faster and much more cost efficient if we just took over the website build.

As a result, we replicated what had been created to that point for the new website and then discussed with the client what finishing touches they wanted on this new website to get it live and operational.

We also provided the client with a few extras, like tutorials on how to manage content etc. so they could be in the best position possible moving forwards.

After dealing with this for more than a year, we were able to get this clients new website live and operational within 2 weeks of coming on board.

Cosmetic Dentistry - service website

The Situation

This company had been working with a local web design agency for a number of months and communication had stopped.

The website was half finished, but it was a live site, which meant all visitors could see that it wasn't optimised and had lots of work needed to bring it up to standard.

The Solution

We were asked initially to finish this website and bring it up to standard.

We initially made attempts to contact the original web agency to see what the story was, but quickly found out that the original agency was a small 2 person team that did websites on the side and this really wasn't a priority for them at all.

After gaining access to the website, we brought the site up to standard and made sure to optimise each area of the site to ensure it was high-converting.

We also followed up with the original agency to gain access and control of the domain name for the client, as the agency actually owned this and didn't allow the client access to their own domain name.

With the domain name secured and put into the clients name, and the website complete, this was another job well done for us.

It has been a real pleasure to work with Vision Digital. Their communication was excellent and they were able to help get our online shop go-live after an 8 month delay from another company.

Also, they fixed a multitude of issues that were wrong.
